Me and my brother Janne

Greetings from Gary the Fox, I will start by telling you a little about myself, I am a modern urban fox living in a small town in Essex with my brother ‘Janne’ and my sister ‘Baby Jenny’, although we are wild foxes we try to fit in with our surroundings and get on with our neighbours who seem to enjoy our company and the chance to have some real wildlife close by. Life can be very difficult and dangerous for us with cars whizzing around and even some people who can be quite nasty, but we are very lucky to have some special people who help us out and watch over us, they even give us medicine to keep us happy and healthy.

We still live with our parents (Gregor & Jenny) but soon we will all be off to find our own way in this world, maybe we will even visit you but for now I will be keeping my web site up dated with pictures, videos and helpful information about me and my friends and family.

Welcome to my site!

The weather is getting warmer and the cubs are getting bigger and more adventurous, I must apologies for not keeping things updated and to make up i have added some new videos and pictures, I hope you like them. A while ago poor Gregor had hurt his leg and had a terrible limp which would not go away and with Jenny and his family to feed it was quite worrying but the nice people at the National Fox Welfare Society sent through some medicene which helped him return to health within a few days which was just as well as his little ones are quite the handfull, though they are not as natural in front of the camera as I was at their age. Dont forget to leave out a bowl of fresh water for the wildlife when the days get hot.

Merry Christmas to all my friends

Sorry I have not updated recently but it is a busy time for everyone and there is a lot to sort out. In the mean time I hope everyone has a great Christmas and a happy new year.

Remember not to waste any of the Christmas left over food as there are many animals in the cold who would love a little snack at this time of year

October. It has become time to move out of the safe family group now and strike out on my own, to carve out a bit of territory on the mean streets and declare my independence. I do occasionally pop back and will keep my web site updated with the latest pictures and vids but it is a busy time. There is plenty of food about but the nights are starting to turn cold and things will start to get tougher for me and my brother Janne who has gone with me, Baby Jenny has stayed with Gregor & Jenny and may help raise next years cubs unless some young handsome fox catches her eye. As the others are shy in front of the camera I will put up some videos filmed on a night camera for your enjoyment

September. All us cubs are getting bigger now and although the family unit is still strong maybe it is time for a bit of independence, I have started to keep my eye out for a new pad and as you can see in my new pics I have found quite a plush one but I am not sure if I really want to share it

Summer is here.  Supposedly it is summer time though there appears to be a lot of rain around at the moment which is not to bad for us as when it has been sunny for a while it becomes difficult to find fresh water to drink as sensible people have nets over their ponds to stop cats and birds stealing the fish, though some nice people will leave out bowls of fresh water for all the wildlife to share.

Although it is easier in the summer, food is always a problem and as we are not the vicious killers people say we are we mainly live on insects, grubs, worms and things that you throw away, in return we keep down the number of rats and mice in the area, we never kill cats and can live in harmony with them (when I was very young my mum did chase a cat, not to hurt  it, she was just worried about my safety as I was only small).
